Abstract

The study was designed to investigate the impact of home assignment on student social and academic activities. The data was collected to get information from 300 girls and boys elementary students of public sector schools in district Bagh Azad Jammu and Kashmir. The questionnaire was developed to get the information about the impact of home assignment on student’s social activities. The data was analyzed through SPSS 23rd version and chi square test was used. It was found that home assignments improved many habits of the students like their learning, hand writing, study habits and made the students responsible and punctual. Students after the completion of home assignments had enough time to participate in different functions, time spent with their parents and friends. They also took part in many indoor and outdoor extracurricular activities. It is recommended that home assignments need to be planned clearly and accurately that can be more beneficial for students. Home assignments need to be arranged in the ways that they do not look like a punishment for the learners; they could take part in other additional activities. After the completion of home assignment the teachers should provide their comments and feedback to the learners.
